The Harrisburg Fire Department is always looking for
people who show an active interest in becoming a firefighter or
Emergency Medical Technician. If you are looking for excitement,
camaraderie, and an opportunity to serve your neighbors and the public,
the emergency services may be just what you need. Harrisburg Fire
Department provides you with the latest equipment and training in order
to become a North Carolina Certified Firefighter and/or EMT.
Full-time and
part-time positions as firefighters and emergency medical technicians
are also available.
When positions become available they are offered in house to volunteers
first. Currently all full-time and part-time positions are full,
however we always accept interest cards. When you fill out an interest
card they stay on file until the hiring process is opened up. Once the hiring process is opened you will be contacted with further
instructions. Hiring status will always be available on the
website.
If you aren't too sure, we offer a ride-along program. You can
learn about the things we do, how we train, and how we live. So if
you are interest in being a volunteer, part-time or full-time employee or
