Harrisburg FD was dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Accident. Harrisburg Engine 1 arrived on scene and found a Passenger Vehicle versus a Tractor Trailer Dump Truck and what appeared to be a head on collision, Pin in was confirmed and upon closer investigation a ruptured saddle tank from the truck was observed. Engine 1 established command and upgraded the assignment to MVA w/Pin-in, Harrisburg Rescue 1 along with Engine 1's crew began extraction operations. Harrisburg 11 arrived on scene and assumed command and confirmed that CMC Med Center Air was en-route and requested Jackson Park VFD to assist with landing zone operations and also requested Concord Hazmat 7 due to the ruptured fuel tank. Harrisburg Engine 2 arrived on scene and was assigned Hazmat and began containing the fuel leak until the Hazmat team arrived. The Patient was quickly extracted and airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center via Med Center Air. The cause of the accident is being investigated by CCSD and NCSHP.
