House Fire - December 5, 2005

On Saturday, December 3rd just after midnight Harrisburg FD, Newell VFD and Robinson VFD were dispatched to a working structure fire. Harrisburg Chief 1501 arrived to find a single story residence approximately 60% involved. Flowes Store VFD was called due for water supply. Harrisburg Engine 2 was the first apparatus to arrive and began fire attack with a 2-1/2" line. A blitz attack nozzle was also put into place. Newell Engine 3, Harrisburg Engine 1 and Engine 3, Robinson VFD and Flowes Store Engine 1 took turns supplying water to Harrisburg Engine 2. Primary and secondary searches was also preformed with all clear given. Crews spent several hours overhauling due to large amount of contents inside the residence. The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Cabarrus County Fire Marshall's office.
