House Fire
October 22, 2007
On Monday October 22, 2007 Harrisburg FD was dispatched to smoke in the area of Hickory Ridge High School. Prior to checking en-route, communications upgraded the assignment to a working house fire.  Harrisburg Engine 2 and Harrisburg 11 arrived on scene with a house approximately 75% involved. Engine 2 began defensive fire suppression operations. Harrisburg Engine 1 and Harrisburg 10 arrived shortly after and assisted with fire suppression and HB 10 assumed command. Due to the lack of hydrants, Newell Engine 2 and Newell 9 established a water supply and began relay operations using a drop tank and tankers from Harrisburg FD, City of Charlotte FD, Mint Hill VFD, Robinson VFD, Midland VFD and Jackson Park VFD. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Harrisburg Fire Marshal’s Office.
