On
Friday, April 14th, 2006 Harrisburg FD, Jackson Park VFD
& Concord Engine & Rescue 5 responded to a structure fire on Renfrew
Dr in Harrisburg. Jackson Park's Chief was first on scene with smoke
showing from the second floor. He advised that the fire was already
out. Harrisburg Engine 1 and Engine 2 arrived and checked for
extension and ventilated the residence. The cause of the fire was
believed to be the fish tank motor, which caught several other items
on fire. The heat from the other combustibles broke the fish tank
spilling all its water and contents onto the fire, consequently
extinguishing the fire. The fish did not survive the incident.
However, the family cat was found and is in good condition. The
house suffered moderate smoke damage throughout. The Cabarrus County
Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the incident.
